Japan just demolished China in this exhibition game!!!
Japan has their full roster. And China has everyone except for Li Yueru
For context, Japan was awful in the 2022 world cup after their Olympic silver Cinderella run in 2021. And Japan lost the 2023 Asia cup which is a tournament they used to dominate. China finished with silver in the 2022 world cup and gold in the 2023 Asia cup. But they got demolished by France in the OQT. And now Japan is running right through them

Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc: A Sharp Review of Murders, Madness, and Mystery
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc stands out as a compelling visual novel, blending a strong presentation with engaging storytelling. Kazutaka Kodaka’s creative direction, combined with Rui Komatsuzaki’s unique character designs and Masafumi Takada’s memorable soundtrack, elevates the experience, making it as much a feast for the eyes and ears as it is for the mind. While the pacing may feel uneven at times, the overall experience is an emotional rollercoaster filled with twists, humor, and heartbreak. It’s easy to see why Danganronpa became a successful IP with a dedicated fanbase and continues to inspire new games and creators.

Aniplex, Too Kyo Games, and Media.Vision announce The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy for Switch, PC - Gematsu
Publisher Aniplex and developers Too Kyo Games and Media.Vision have announced adventure / strategy RPG The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy for Switch and PC (Steam). It will launch in early 2025.
Here is an overview of the game, via Aniplex:
About
Project Extreme x Despair is here! From the creators of the Danganronpa and Zero Escape series comes a brand-new adventure game! Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling himself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear… All he has to do is stab himself in the chest! The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders? The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair…
Key Features
100 Extreme Despair-Filled Endings – Takumi’s choices will decide his future, but there’s no telling what kind of consequences these decisions might have…
Defensive Battles – When the invaders attack, it’s up to you to protect the school in strategy RPG battles. Use each student’s unique Specialist Skills to turn the tide of battle in your favor!
Free Time and Exploration – Spend time with your teammates to deepen your bonds, or explore the wilderness and ruins outside the school. You can even use the items you find to craft gifts and get even closer to your allies!

Autistic Anime Boys Prelims - Propaganda Division - Group 4
Propaganda:
Natsuki -
"He has a flat affect, especially towards the start of the series, and a strong special interest in fishing. He does not get along with Haru and Yuki at first because he doesn't think they are taking fishing seriously, but after seeing Yuki's drive to improve and growing appreciation for his interest, he warms up to them and develops, what seems to be, the first close friendships he 's had. As the boys learn to fish, he is the source of most of the very specific fishing knowledge in the series, and after the show is finished we see that he has moved overseas to continue pursuing his special interest."
Luca -
*okay I screwed up, this submission didn't have propaganda. It WAS marked 'yes' for propaganda use though, which is where the confusion came from. At this point I'm too tired to move the bracket around though, so Luca's just gonna stay here.
Adrian -
"Not a full time boy (but a boy nonetheless, bigender icon fr) but working autism overtime."
Rui -
"aside from being an adorable piano genius with the voice of an angel? he grew up sheltered and doesn't have a lot of physical stamina but he does his best to become an idol (rescuing his own black kitten along the way) and is officially considered the most cat-like in his unit. he will eat your pudding. also he grows up! he used to be like fifteen and now he's 26?!"
Hikaru -
"He's shown to have difficulty emoting since childhood. In a particular episode, a mother comes to him to alter her child's brain and remove the parts of him that make him difficult to handle. It is heavily implied that the things she wants removed is autism and Hikaru is more upset about this than most other things in the series but seems to understand that acceptance for people like him and the kid is few and far between. He also says things that could be considered rude when it comes to situations where people ask him to alter who they are as people, such as when a friend asks him to change her sexuality so that she's straight and doesn't have to suffer heartbreak anymore."
Rei -
"AUTISTIC ICON!!!!! just like. look at him. look at that one face he makes all the time. it's hard for me to name specific examples other than the obvious fixation on shoji and like general lack of social skills because i haven't gone through the whole thing in so long but there's soooo much there. i might be talking out of my ass but it's also like? such a sensorily focused story (both the anime and manga). he could even be considered a sports anime boy if you just believed ❤️ or something ‼️"
Vayne -
"Relies on his pet cat for social cues, because the cat is better at them. The saddest, most gentle boy to ever wield a cat-sword-gauntlet. Absolutely listens to all of his friends' infodumps with infinite love and interest. Completely oblivious to how everyone in his workshop adores him by the end of the game."
Ganta -
"he has insomnia (frequently comorbid with autism). once he gains an interest in astrophotography it becomes a special interest very quickly. he's sweet and kind but also gets annoyed easily and he rides a bike and works at an arcade and wants to be a nurse and he loves his girlfriend isaki so so much"
Aoi -
"He has a very devoted special interest in the idol Takada-chan, which he frequently imagines in fights and other situations… the moment someone (Itadori) expresses equal interest in something he is passionate about, he immediately declares them besties and brothers and creates a whole elaborate shared history for them that doesn’t actually exist. He’s not really interested in connecting with people who don’t share his interests. He’s seen as somewhat strange and eccentric. Though in the present he is respected because of his strength as a sorcerer, as a child he was very isolated."
Ray -
"Due to his extremely strong memory, Ray is forced to grow up faster than his best friends and gives himself up as a lost cause in hopes of saving them. He is very sharp and smart but has massive blind spots when it comes to trusting and considering others."

What's your reaction to "The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy" announcement trailer?
Sorry for the late answer! I'm glad you asked, because it's exactly what I wanted to talk about.
First of all, the timing of the announcement was not surprising to me, as Kodaka had given the impression on his X account that they would be announcing a new title soon, and when the trailer started on the Nintendo Direct, I immediately realized that this was the title he had been talking about all along.
However, I was surprised that it was a "school" story after all, and I thought again that the content of Danganronpa V3 was full of what they wanted to do. When I finished DRV3, I think it had a lot of different elements in a good way, but at the same time, it felt chaotic. I got the feeling that they no longer hesitated to cram in various elements without explaining anything. For example, there's no reason in Shuichi suddenly driving during the trial, there's no reason in the cornered criminal suddenly doing something like cosplay, and even though Tsumugi explained it's all Danganronpa cosplay in the final trial, there are facilities (such as the casino and the love hotel) that don't exist in Danganronpa. I know the reason for the various inconsistencies in the whole thing is that there are some lies hidden somewhere, but I think originally each of those elements was something they wanted to do more deeply. I also felt that when I played RAIN CODE, I felt that the Reasoning Death Matches were a totally improved version of the Argument Armament in V3, and the fact that the protagonist is a detective and the idea that solving mysteries can sometimes lead to misfortune is similar to V3 as well. Going back to The Hundred Line, the setting of this school is very similar to V3. Thus my first impression of the announcement trailer was that what they wanted to do had not changed much since V3.
By the way, the school uniform is similar to the Amaterasu Corporation uniform from RAIN CODE, and Shinigami and SIREI are clearly similar, so it seems like they're not hesitating to repeat what they've done before, but Kodaka says they've packed in what they want to do in this game, so I think it's good that their direction is consistent.
Well, to be honest, I'm a little confused right now. Although I don't have such an opinion, there were a lot of people in RAIN CODE reviews and X comments who said that if they wanted to make a game that was so similar to Danganronpa, they should have just made a sequel to Danganronpa. I thought maybe they wanted to make a more free-form game and break out of that mold, but in the end, the main characters of The Hundred Line are students and can't leave school, so I'm starting to think that maybe they wanted to make Danganronpa-like game after all, and that confuses me. But I also think it could be that they're trying to trick their fans into thinking that, so maybe it's right to think that way (in other words, just like they hoped 😄).
In any case, I have already decided to buy this game. I'm not sure what it will be like, but at least it was announced that Masafumi Takada is the audio director, so I'll definitely buy it because I'll definitely be able to listen to his new song, which is worth it to me. Of course, I'm also looking forward to the art of Rui Komatsuzaki and Shimadoriru! I'm just happy to be able to see their new art. 😊✨
The way I'm talking may make it seem like I don't have high expectations for Kodaka's scenario, but I don't really know what kind of scenarios Uchikoshi writes, and also Kodaka said in an interview that he hired a new writer for this title, so I lowered my expectations a bit.
So if anyone reading this is planning to buy The Hundred Line, let's look forward to its release together! 🙌
Thank you for asking! 💖

So because mod can't find the original tally post heres a new one that has been updated... "X" means there are none on here yet...Also mod insisted on using first and last names to avoid confusion among those from alternate dimensions and timelines, if either is unlisted it is because it has not been revealed yet...And for those that are Un-named mod has been coming up with names for them and will be listed in parentheses.

Wait Kodaka and Uchikoshi are making a new game together?
They are indeed my good fellow! May I introduce you to The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy? It's currently set to be released in 'early 2025' and has been teased to be a mixture of a visual novel and strategy RPG, something akin to Fire Emblem perhaps (I've only played Three Houses with friends so I'm not the most credible source for accuracy on that). Rui Komatsuzaki is the lead character designer and Masafumi Takada is the music composer. As a short synopsis of the proposed plot, the lead character Takumi Sumino and his childhood friend are suddenly attacked and his friend dies, but Takumi is saved by some weird anthropomorphic egg thing. This egg is one of the mascots of a school that trains its students to become soldiers given a duty to defend it from enemy attacks. 15 other students are trapped here with Takumi, so he must fight to survive alongside his new teammates as death looms over them all.
The game boasts about having 100 different endings, but the differences--however minute or drastic--between each ending is unknown. I assume most endings will depend on who lives or dies in each playthrough, as their survivability could fall upon the responsibility of the player. More information is yet to be revealed.

my MDA:Rain Code thoughts - spoiler free version
I've been meaning to thought dump my overall thoughts and opinions about rain code for a while and well,, here we are!
my overall opinions: Despite some issues, Rain Code acts as a great foundation that can be built upon in the future - along with plot threads that can be used in future games. If your a danganronpa fan I would totally recommend it, but its a bit of a harder sell to those outside the bubble.
I have already done another form of this kinda post with everything i deemed to be somewhat spoilery - whether that be full on plot twists and story events in specific chapters or simple side content. For anyone who wants to read the spoiler version i'll link it here!
onto the list!:
to try to keep to some order, i've orginised the points into gameplay/mechanics, story and characters
Masafumi Takada was let out of the basement and has made yet another banging ost, is there no stop to this man? The title theme RAINCODE?? HELLO?? what i liked was that there are moments in which you can hear dangan elements; such as during the investigation theme you can hear trumpets which personally reminded me of sdr2's investigation theme and bella fresco grand finale - shinigami's execution theme - there are parts that sound like the execution theme. Despite all these dangan references (which im sure there are more) Raincode has been able to carve out its own vibe musically and im all here for this more low-key, lo-fi kinda feel!
Rui Komatsuzaki is back and the characters have that distinct design flair and eccentricity i expect from him. I have to say his designs are partly what drew me into Raincode because, well,,, his style is so recognisable!! it also is somewhat nostalgic for me so my neurons activate when i see it. I am but a simple man that enjoys this rui style.
Personally, Kodaka defiantly did not utilise this being a 3D adventure game enough because at points it just felt like visual novel taking place within a 3D space. And the adventure part i believe is quite the misnomer - it can be super restrictive in its exploration, theres not much to do/see within the city itself other than the requests - which are more of a story than gameplay thing. Though the adventure/action descriptors for the game are for the mystery labyrinth, it can make kanai ward itself feel more like a vehicle (gameplay wise) to get you from one case to the next. Kanai ward is stunning though, with kamasaki district being my favourite part!!
I also found that the mystery labyrinths got boring at inbetween all the minigames - consisting of running to the next part whilst the characters discus the case. In danganronpa, these moments of discussion were unnoticeable due to being a visual novel but within a 3D action/adventure-esque game like Rain Code they don't work.
Being outside of the killing game formula with supernatural abilities, Kodaka has been able to do some really interesting things with cases. If there are future games i'm curious if he'll set up a pattern of cases like in danganronpa.
I DID NOT EXPECT ALOT OF THE PLOT TWISTS, one of which only works well if you've played danganronpa in my opinion. Another one didn't have build up, but i can't tell if its a im just dense thing or a it was just a shit twist thing
Quirky ahh characters my beloved - most major characters stood out and had their moments. They join the Kodaka pile of eccenticity
I am a HUGE Yomi stannie, he is delightfully evil and his VA was going absolutely ham. shout out to Howard Wang! He is evil and there is no changing him and i love him for it!
other than him and martina i found the peacekeepers to be a little disappointing. They did what they were needed to but most are susceptible to leaving little impression on people. Which is not good as they are your major obstacle in a chapter. the majority of them have under 30~ mins of screen time [that is a rough estimate, most likely im wildly wrong] though they didn't need to have backstories or anything, them being a constant presence through investigation might've helped.
YAKOU MY LOVE <3<3<3<3<3<3 he is a soggy, wet cat of a character and sooooo pathetic!!! my kinda guy
Now i like fubuki as much as the next guy but i found that she would go one of the funniest characters of the cast to

The Father Alchemist
Hagane wo Tsugu Mono: Souma cannot bear the sight of the Gate of Destruction, with Shinmetsu Jushin ZANGO holding it, and Mutsugi casts a spell upon him. Ryuga and Koyori attempt to make their way through ARIVIS again, Koyori relating she just barely saw Mutsugi trigger the trap, though she cannot guess at her motive, but reveals Mutsugi seemed to know where to go to find Souma earlier. Ryuga, having heard Godou's voice from 3 years ago, guesses that 3 years ago he had come to ARIVIS with Mutsugi, and they decide to hurry. Mutsugi has restrained Souma, and channels darkness from ZANGO into him, while telling him she is acting for justice, and just needs him to release the armour, claiming grandiosely she can bring about a world without Horrors when the seal on the Gate of Destruction is broken, by removing mankind's Inga. She recalls saving a man from a Horror, as was her duty, only for that man to kill many people, the guilt she felt burdened her. Godou tried to help her move on, but she feared what may happen again, unable to believe in mankind like Godou. The opening of the Gate of Destruction is said to be when Inga first came into Jinkai, but despite the sacrifices to close it, Inga remains in the world, and Mutsugi could find no way to prevent it, until she learnt of the Forbidden Fruit in one of Godou's books, just as he came to her to tell her he was going to SEKIGAN Forest, and had her stay to protect the city. She caught up to him later, and convinced him to let her join him in ARIVIS. When they arrived, the Gate of Destruction was more a swirling vortex of darkness. The temptress appeared to her, convincing her to break the seal to achieve her dream, and she sees within it the Forbidden Fruit, and starts preaching if it to Godou's confusion, and when she suggests opening the gate to acquire it, he naturally refuses due to the expected outpouring of Inga, but she finds it convenient, she can gather all those drawn to it at once, and kill them, since they're the people who will eventually become Horrors. Godou tries to make her see sense, but she restrains him and prepares to try and break the seal, Godou breaks free and summons ZANGO. The gate attacked him after Mutsugi started, Iruva confirming the seal has been broken, Godou sees no choice but to leap at the Gate. Iruva begged him to release the armour, as otherwise it was sure to consume him, but he swore to keep the gate sealed even if it cost his life. And so Shinmetsu Jushin ZANGO formed, and absorbed the Jaki from the Gate of Destruction, keeping the gate sealed as long as it remained there. Souma is naturally unhappy to learn Mutsugi has both known the reason for his father's loss and been the cause of it, even as she attempts to convince him to choose differently to Godou, as she forces more Jaki into him, demanding to know what his wish is. To fight as ZANGO like Godou, Godou's acknowledgement, protect everyone by opening the Gate of Destruction. Souma tells her to be quiet as she presses him to claim ZANGO. After she stops channeling Jaki into Souma, the Temptress appears to him, pressing him to do as Mutsugi bids. Ryuga and Koyori finally arrive, and try to defend Souma, but thanks to the Temptress and the Jaki he attacks them when they stop him, and leaps at ZANGO to strike it and release the armour. As the Armour starts to release, ending the seal upon the Gate of Destruction, Souma turns to oppose Ryuga.
New Generation Stars: Yuka marvels at the incredible technology of the GUTS Sparklence, and assumes Hijiri Akito must have been a world renowned scientist, prompting the robot to reveal Akito was only 18 when he invented it, and showcase further Akito inventions, Nursedessei and GUTS Falcon. Yuka is shocked someone so young was able to create technology suited for Ultra use, prompting the Robot to show her another example, Xio's Takada Rui, also 18 at the time, alongside Fantin Seijin Guruman, creating the Ultimate Zero Cyber Card so X could rescue her. Yuka feels inadequate after learning of these geniuses, but the Robot, apparently not understanding why shows another example, then 19 year old Ichijoji Tomoya of UPG harnessing a way to channel Victorium energy to revive Ginga Strium and Victory to fight Five King (SDU), with an aside about the Ultra Six Brothers fighting the Guar Brothers. Yuka voices her feelings of inadequacy, but then tries to steel herself to resume work, as the Robot wonders if it has fine the right thing.
Gotchard: Hotaro is exhausted from using ancient alchemy, so Sabimaru and Renge help out at Kitchen Ichinose, but when he wakes up he joins in, feeling doing what he needs to is the way he'll recover his Chemy friends. Minato reflects on the recent battle, and ten years ago, when Lachesis approaches, he guesses she is there to kill him. Greyon looks at the 8 Class 10 Chemies he has now. Lachesis is distraught at Minato not keeping with his plan to defeat Greyon, and begs for help, terrified of Greyon, only for Clotho and Atropos to appear, Greyon having guessed she was wavering. Clotho is still hesitant to kill her sister, but Atropos takes the Dreadriver to attack, Spanner's coincidental arrival occupies her, and Minato holds Clotho off until Lachesis escapes before fleeing, then Atropos, overwhelmed by Spanner's power, also flees with Clotho. Ichinose collapsed after the restaurant closes, right before Kudoh arrives. Greyon tells Atropos and Clotho that the traitors can be dealt with anytime, he intends to focus on his main objective, but to create the Door of Darkness he needs all 10 Class X Chemies. He's actually had Dragonalos imprisoned in his cube all this time, so releases it to forcibly create a Dragon Malgam, and sends it after the last one. Kyouka detects this, and knows Gaiard is at the Earth Science museum, informing Spanner and the kids. Renge and Sabimaru don't want to tell Ichinose, but Kudoh does, reasoning he'd work it out anyway. Valvarad confronts the Dragon Malgam after it already captured Gaiard, but find his black flames are ineffective, Madjade has Ichinose wait, and starts off well, but becomes overwhelmed, prompting Iron Gotchard to join the frey. The Malgam fights while gloating over the power Dragonalos and Gaiard hold as the first Chemy, enough that the other Class X have their power derived from them, and laughs when Ichinose argued TenLiner is also Class X, and defeats all 3 Riders. It aims to finish them, when it's attack is intercepted, by the arrival of Kudoh Fuga. Equipping his own AlchemisDriver, and declaring he will open the path for the youths, he uses GigaBaham and KuroAna to become Kamen Rider Wind Black Bahamut. Wind effortlessly overpowers the Malgam regardless of what it does, and Fuga recovers Dragonalos and Gaiard. Unfortunately, he is immediately stabbed in the back by Greyon, who takes all 4 Chemies and leaves to complete his work. Fuga assures his daughter she will see him again, and entrusts Ichinose with chasing Greyon to the Ouroboros Realm, before his body falls apart, revealing he was an alchemical double. After a moment to recover, everyone boards TenLiner to follow Greyon, who, Atropos and Clotho at his side, begins using dark Alchemy on all the Chemies in his possession.
Bunboomger: Mira arrives at Taiya's mansion and enters his base, as discussions about transferring documents for diplomats is ongoing, however Chassiro refuses to accept her as a Bunboomger. While eating Bunboom's curry, they explain that he is an alien, while the Hashilien are Space Mafia, and are currently promising their boss, Mad Rex, Earth, so he can advance, and make the next Kurumaju from a vacuum cleaner. Chassiro is forced by Taiya to take Mira on the job by being reminded of his own recruitment, Taiya had him at his mercy but recruited him instead. Just before making contact, the diplomat's documents are sucked by the Kurumajin, despite Chassiro trying to stop her, Mira can't help but run in to fight it when the same patrolman is imperilled, she then sees Chassiro has disappeared. Taiya arrives and helps get the unconscious man away, upon hearing of Chassiro running off he tells the man watching last time, who is with procurement, to take care of things, before fighting with Mira against the Kurumajin, right up until Bunboom Wagon rolls in, grabs it, and drags it away, driven by Chassiro, to Mira's confusion. It drops it at a junkyard, and sucks it all up, until it gets clogged, at which point Taiya grabs the dust collector, which has the documents inside. Mira is confused how this was planned, Chassiro had been observing from the beginning, and determining their was a collection limit, acted to get the Kurumajin out the way, Taiya trusting him to act properly, but denies Taiya's claim that he trusted Mira to hold off the Kurumajin. Also procurement bought the junkyard with Taiya's money so they could use it. The 3 BunBoomgers fight and defeat the Kurumajin, but Yarucar rampages again. Taiya and Chassiro's teamwork runs it off the road, and Bunboomger Robo defeats it. The secret documents wind up being something unexpected, but Mira sees the value of the job and Chassiro leaves self-satisfied.

Danganronpa Creator Kazutaka Kodaka Visits Bokeh Game Studio
https://ift.tt/YmQtrS6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nzd6ZESIkE&t=19s submitted by Paroxia to japan_games 1 points | 0 comments https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nzd6ZESIkE&t=19s [Via siliconera] *Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka sat down with Keiichiro Toyama at Bokeh Game Studios to talk about his development process. The interview was recorded as part of Bokeh’s regular “Golden Hour” series, where Toyama talks with developers across the industry. During their chat, Kodaka discussed his inspirations, his experience working with voice actors and the challenges of setting up his own company. When discussing the inspirations behind the Danganronpa series, Kodaka talked about how he was heavily inspired by the manga Dragon Head and The Drifting Classroom. He also cited the original Battle Royale novel as a major inspiration too. He talked about how he meticulously plans out his storylines and likes to hear when players get so hooked on his stories that they play in one sitting. The interview also touched on the development of Kodaka’s latest title, Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. He explained that the process of recording voice actors for the new game was different from doing the same for Danganronpa. He talked about how there were a lot of retakes, due to frequent changes to the script over the game’s six-year development. Kodaka also discussed the challenges of setting up Too Kyo Games, the development studio he founded with fellow Danganronpa team members Rui Komatsuzaki and Masafumi Takada, along with Zero Escape director Kotaro Uchikoshi. He also joked about working with Uchikoshi, who he claims sleeps all day and works through the night. * via Lemmy.ca - Paroxia https://ift.tt/tfJkgVH
